Ipswich Kits: 1960's to the current day

Johnny Miller (foreground) and Ian Collard sport the home strip introduced in August of 1972.

The shirt design was modified several times during the course of the season with changes to the neck and sleeves.

Trevor Whymark (inset) wears a version with white collar and cuffs and Mick Lambert (lower right) sports a version with white v-neck fill, collar and cuffs.

All designs made a number of appearances during the course of this and the following season, but the version sported by Lambert was used predominantly and would continue to be used until the end of 1974/75 season.

All of the shirts variations included a newly redesigned club badge ...

Mick Lambert (right) wearing the new home strip for the 1978/79 season. "FA Cup Winners 1978" is embroidered under club badge.

George Burley (below) in the new away strip also issued at the start of the 1978/79 campaign and with same embroidery under badge as the home strip.

Both designs would be worn through to the end of the 1980/81 Season.

A "one-off" strip was used for the FA Charity Shield game with Nottingham Forest at Wembley, complete with "FA Charity Shield 1978" embroidered under club badge. Identical to the new home strip in every other aspect.
