The stag beetle is the UK’s largest terrestrial beetle, and is so named because the male’s large jaw-like mandibles look just like the antlers of a stag. This guy was making his way across our back lawn and didn’t seem to be in any hurry as it took him/her(?) around two hours to make the 20′ journey!
