| i have been a friend of bob`s for some 12 years now and yesterday we had a xmas drink together. i never in my wildest dreams thought that one day i would have the honour of being in this man`s company. me and my dad used to go to upton park in the 60`s and 70`s and whenever bob played against us my dad would say "wouldn`t it be great if he played for us". high praise indeed.
bob is a friend and a wonderful man and it is an honour to be in his company.
ps i also had the honour of playing alongside the great man for echo sports veterans in southend.
