| well,im from Omagh and can honestly say every1 from here knows pat sharkey and that he played for Ipswich!!!my gran is really good friends wiv Pat`s mother in law!!

| Finding this site has taken me back to the early 70s when I played at Portadown with Pat. I remember him as a very talented young midfield player who I thought would make it professionally. I left NI in 1972 to go to university in Birmingham and it is only now that I have discovered Pat did have a professional career and from the evidence of all the messages posted here he remained a great bloke throughout it all! | Was Omagh Towns kit boy in the `80`s, whilst they were still a junior team, and coupled with the fact that I supported Ipswich also, I was a bit awe struck to have Pat join "my wee team" from Hong Kong.
He was quality through and through, and I remember one day in particular during warming up, he was in the centre circle, and three times in succession, he suggested he would hit the ball against the cross bar from that distance.
Three times he did!!!!

| my brother went to school with Pat in omagh he was working in colchester in the 70s and went in to a pub one night and saw Pat at the bar went over kicked him in the shin and told him thats how to tackle needless to say they spent the next few hours drinking and remembering old times great bloke brian burke 11-07-2008 |

| Well i am this legends nephew, from the town the size of omagh, pat is still the only man that has properly made it across the waters as a professional footballer. | I`m an old friend of Pat and we meet up maybe once a month when I`m back in Omagh and we try to put the football world to rights over a couple of beers.
By playing in the top flight in England and representing his country, Pat set the standard for all young local players to follow and, whilst a few may have `huffed and puffed`, none have come close to Pat.

| I met Pat while he was on loan to Millwall back in 1976, he was a friend of my late father "Gerry".
A great bloke was pat as i recall,and he stayed a few times at our house,(usually on a friday night after a good drink)

| Hi I am a football maniac from Hong Kong.
I recall that Pat played for a club called "Po Chai Pills" in Hong Kong for half a season in early 80`s.

| I`m Pat`s niece, i`m really proud of my uncle for what he has achieved.
He has recently coached an amateur saturday league football team to 2nd in the league, their best position since the club began.
He also continues to voluntarily coach at soccer schools during the Year through out Ireland, with a helping hand from his very skillful 11 year old daughter.
