| is this the same john I knew who drove a petrol tanker for Texaco in poole in dorset, it was a long time ago in the 90,s, I was young and only knew him vaguely, the other drivers used to tell me one of their drivers was a former player for Chelsea, ipswich and Bournemouth, i remember me asking how did a professional player end up driving, which the answer was "the pay was,nt as good in those day,s and after Bournemouth this job came around". I can,t remember if john told me or another colleague who knew john told me?, as I like football and time,s going on I,v always,s tried to remember who that player was it would good to know.i still drive tanker,s and will now do some research with the old driver,s. gary harrison 17-02-2013 |

| John and I made our debut for Dagenham Town on the day of the 'Matthews' Cup Final. Dagenham were in the Delphinian League at the time. We both played for the Chelsea Youth side alongside John Sillett and Peter Braybrook. We lost touch when I went into the army and John moved to Ipswich. I would love to contact him again. Fulham signed me as pro when I left the army but I finished as a part time professional in Wales where I now live. PS The Dagenham Town mentioned above is of course now Dagenham and Redbridge.
