Our comments

The signing of Jim Feeney and Sam McCrory from Swansea Town for a combined fee of £10,500 during the 1949/50 season set a then club transfer record.

Represented Northern Ireland at Full International and 'B' levels. Won two caps for Northern Ireland before joing Ipswich.

His son and grandson are also Internationals.

Your comments

john moore ( hen): Loved him. I thought he played left back he was left footed if my memory is correct. basil acres (2)- neil myles (4) -dai rees (5) -john elsworthy (6). These fellows went to the game on the local bus walked through the players turnstyle ( portman rd ( churchmans end )). I now live in germany i still play amateur football. For the record my favourite players were bobby johnstone (6) wanted to sing opera scott duncan told him football or opera .. bobby went to canada to sing. I remember a game he was in along i believe with ray crawford one shot from bobby twds north stand hit the bar with such a force that i bet the bar is still vibrating. Players. ray crawford - worked his arse off every game. danny hegan - he should have gone a lot further he read the game so well. kevin beattie - brilliant. brian talbot - heart & soul. will add. (2008-06-09)

Andy Button (Ipswich): His grandson,Warren Feeney, plays for Luton. (2006-04-17)

Kelly Feeney: hes my granda, he died before i was born, but i was told he was an amazing player.  (2006-04-12)
