The first adult team Jackie played for was from Clayden, Barham House - they won Division Three, Section A of the Ipswich and District League in 1930/31 and Division Two in 31/32. Jackie moved to Needham for the 32/33 season.

Jackie also played for Stowmarket in 1934 After joining them from Needham. After leaving Ipswich, he became player-coach at Stowmarket at the start of the 1950/51 season, He made a good start as they won the Border League and 4 cups, including a return to Portman Rd to lift the Suffoolk senior Cup v Sudbury. He remained as player coach till 1953 and then took over again in 1956 this time staying till 1960.

I understand that Jackie Little died on Monday 15th October.

Sad to report that Jackie Little (now 95 years old) was admitted to Ipswich hospital just over ten days ago. Jackie won a Southern League Champion medal with Town in their first season as a professional club (1936-37). He played in Town’s very first Football League match and served the club with distinction during their first five seasons in the Third Division (South). He can also boast an unbeatable record as the first Town player to score directly from a corner.
