| Jack was carried off three times during his four year career as Town’s no. 1. At Walsall on October 15th, 1952 he was carried off and replaced in goal by Jim Gaynor (Town recorded a 3-1 win). Just over two years later, on December 5th, 1954, he was carried off at Swansea, and replaced between the sticks by Wilf Grant (Town lost 6-1). The third occasion was on March 5, 1955 at Fulham (his final game for the club) with George McLuckie taking over in goal while Jack took his place on the left-wing for the whole of the second half (Town lost 4-1). An x-ray back in Suffolk that night revealed bruising but no broken bones. Ralph 12-02-2012 |
| My dad remembers him playing for Swansea Town (now Swansea City)in the 1940s.
He was known as "Fearless" Jack Parry - as he just went for the ball, regarless & without any thought to his safey - he simply had to get the ball saved.

| Great guy hard worker, worked with him between 1983-1987 for J jarvis & sons, working in Narrow Street London for Sir David Lean I was an aprentice carpenter and he was a foreman bricklayer converting a warehouse on the Thames into a luxury house, later moved on to Moorgate/ London Wall (City of london building society)refurbishing the whole building and then later Coleman street Moorgate (Swiss bank) . He always said he was born in wrong time said when he played for wales in goal he got paid £20.00 a game. Sorry to hear of him passing away. mark loughrey 22-08-2010 |
