| I was in the same first year at Farlingaye School as Geoff. For one year before I moved. Also in that

| While at Farlingaye Old Boys Cyril Lea offered him a trial with Town. Made his Ipswich debut at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea in the game with the goal that never was. The move to Manchester City doubled his wages to £100 a week, with £25 appearance money and £60 a point.
