Ralph: 13-10-1955: Selected for a Division 3 (South) XI in a representative match against a Division 3 (North) XI which was played under floodlights at Accrington Stanley FC. Town`s John Elsworthy was also named as a reserve. (2010-07-08)

Howard Scales (Chesham United): Doug was my cousin and I went to see him play at Portman Road and whenever he was playing in and around London up to about 1958. I distinctly remember he had a # 5 shirt and was almost always an old fashioned centre half. I think he went on to play for Sudbury after he left Ipswich but I never saw him there.  (2008-01-02)

Gareth Rees (Swansea City): Doug was my uncle (my father`s brother) but had finished playing for Ipswich before I was born (1960) Place of birth was Clyne which is about 4 miles from Neath, South Wales [correction noted - thank you] His wife and daughter still live in the Ipswich area (2007-10-20)

Andy Button (Ipswich): Died 2000. (2006-06-03)
