The former Ipswich, Orient and Swindon midfielder passed away last night in Eastbourne, Sussex

I met up with Dave in the pub he took over, the Clifton Arms in Selhurst a stones throw from CPFC.He has suffered from alzemiers for the past 7 or 8 years. He has been in a home for a couple of years needing attention.He was such a generous man at the Clifton,with many a storey of his Millwall days.His sons Paul and Dave (Frank) as he is known in Film circles are always in touch with Dave,and still loving their Millwall.

I used to see Dave play for the O`s in the late sixties & he always gave his all. Unfotunately he got injured & had to retire.There was a testimonial held for him at the orient which I attended & Dave came on to the pitch on crutches he said he was getting a black cab. I hope he is doing well,One of his last games for the O`s was against Sheffield United O`s won 3-1 Dave Scored. My son tells me one of his sons is an actor. I hope all the Harpers are doing well Good luck.

Became a London cabbie for a short while after retiring from the game and then ran a pub near Crystal Palace`s Selhurst Park. His two sons are regular fans at his first club Millwall.
