jan: Clive is my ex-brother-in-law. A brilliant foot ball player, as is his son Andrew. Regretfully Andrew leans to the more acadenmic side of life, and only plays for his local team, but none-the-less, he takes after his father where is foot control happens to be. Clive has three fabulous children ... He is a very devoted and now a proud grandfather. PS He`s aging very well!! Jan (2008-04-14)

Tim Hodge (Ipswich town): when Clive Woods was sold to Norwich City there was a fee of £70,000 + £50,000 after 25 appearance, i am doing a stats record from 1978 since the F.A Cup final in 1978 when i started to be a supporter of Ipswich Town, so expect me to send you alot of wrong stats (2006-10-09)

Tara Woods: Dear Mr Casey I will pass your message on to my father, not sure if you ever check this site but hope you do, so the odds were not that bad!!! I found it!!! Kind Regard Tara  (2006-05-08)

John Casey (Ipswich): Clive Woods is my second cousin....My Grandmother was his Grandmothers sister. If your interested Clive, I have traced the family back to 1722. (Chances of Clive Woods reading this? 1 in about 14,000000!!!) (2003-12-16)

Sean Salter (Ipswich): I think that Clive Woods made 61 substitute appearances and not 60 as stated above. My breakdown FLGE 50 FA CUP 3 FLGE CUP 4 EURO 1 OTHER 3 (TEXACO) (2003-02-06)

Steve Whitlam (Norwich City): Clive Woods is one of a small group of players to play for both Norwich City and Ipswich Town (John Deehan, Louie Donowa, Andy Marshall, Trevor Putney [are amongst the others]). A native of Norwich, he was only offered a place in the Reserves on a trail basis by his hometeam side. He had already had trials with Ipswich, Wolves and Scunthorpe and knew that he was worthy of a proper contract. The Suffolk side eventually signed him and from June 1969 to March 1980 he made 267 appearances for Ipswich as a winger. Ipswich were one of England's leading sides at that time and Clive gained valuable European experience. He was named man of the match for his role in Ipswich's 1-0 FA Cup victory over Arsenal in 1978.

Ipswich's signing of Kevin O'Callaghan seemed to indicate that Clive was no longer required at Portman Road and so he hungrily accepted John Bond's offer to join Norwich City in March 1980. He made 37 appearances for the Canaries scoring 4 goals. He did not fit in with new manager Ken Brown's vision of the City side and was released in 1982 on a free transfer. He has since played amateur football in Norfolk for Newton Flotman, Watton Town and Wroxham.

Clive is still playing football, turning out regularly for Diss Town's reserve side.
