Ipswich Town 2 Queens Park Rangers 2
Ipswich and Queens Park Rangers shared the honours in a drama packed match at Portman Road and a draw was just about a fair result to a full blooded encounter which could have swung either way.
Ipswich looked sure winners as the game ran into injury time, but with 10 seconds to go Les Allen took a free kick outside the Town penalty area. Up went Mike Leach to head a sensational equaliser to rob the Town of both points.
There was nothing in it as the match swung like a pendulum. Then in the 29th minute, Jefferson brought down Marsh in the penalty box, Marsh took the kick himself and with a long striding run-up before firing his kick well wide of Hancock's left arm to put the Rangers one up.
Eight minutes later Brogan created the chance for O'Rourke to equalise.
The tense second half was spoilt by too many fouls, but Crawford seized a chance with a fine header after 70 minutes from Houghton's centre.
