Crystal Palace 1 Ipswich Town 3
Ipswich put themselves two points clear of the field in the Second Division promotion race with an overwhelming victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
There was a sensational opening in which the Town netted twice in two minutes but only one effort was allowed to stand. First O'Rourke was given offside after he had headed a Morris free kick into the net.
Instead of being dispirited Ipswich struck back again and took the lead when, from a Crawford pass, Brogan scored from six yards.
Ipswich increased their lead after half an hour when O'Rourke swept over a centre from the left and Crawford raced in at top speed to flick the ball into the net just as Jackson was about to take possession.
Three minutes later Brogan centred just under the bar, Jackson lost possession under pressure and O'Rourke blasted his shot into the roof of the net.
In the second half Woodruff scored for Palace in the 54th minute.
