Match Report

Magilton encouraged by tour draw

Jim Magilton was pleased by Ipswich's performance in their draw against FC Dordecht - but only in the second half.

Richard Naylor's equaliser ensured the club secured a third 1-1 draw on their tour of Belgium and Holland.

"We had a go in the second half and created chances, but what was not acceptable was the first 45 minutes.

"We were sloppy from the start, gave the ball away cheaply and let them dictate the pace of the game. I'm not having that," said the Ipswich boss.

Charlie van der Ouwelanb gave the hosts the lead before Naylor levelled on five minutes, heading home a Jamie Peters free-kick.

Ipswich went close on a number of occasions. Ian Westlake saw an effort cleared off the line and substitute Billy Clarke thought he had notched the winner in the 84th minute only for it to be ruled out.

"The players were made aware of what we want from them and, to be fair to them, they reacted positively," Magilton added.

"They upped the tempo and started to pass the ball much better. We chopped and changed things around a bit and they responded well to what we said at half-time.

"I'll take the second-half display."
