Leonard Robinson died aged 88 in the Angelsea Road wing of Ipswich Hospital on Sunday 6th March 1983.
`Robbie`, as he was popularly known, was the only player to play for Ipswich Town both sides of the First World War.
Len was in goal when, on 10th May 1921, First Division Chelsea visited Portman Road to play the amateur Ipswich Town, and a then-record 8,000 fans witnessed Len keeping a clean sheet as Town ran out 1-0 winners against First Division opposition.
