`Dammo` Green was a centre forward who was a big favourite with the crowd. He was a prolific scorer and one of the few players I`ve ever seen who could consistently score goals with his heel!
When a cross came behind him, instead of the bicycle kick seen nowadays, Dammo used to have the knack of flicking his leg back and meeting the ball with (I suppose) a combination of heel and ankle. It used to fly into goal with considerable force.
In his later days he put on a lot of weight, but still managed to score on a regular basis.
