Connections

Former Town/City players with a connection to both (excluding those that have represented both clubs, at senior level, whose details can be found here)

Kevin Beattie

Ian Crook the Town player that "never was". At the end of the 1995/96 season, Norwich's financial difficulties led to cost-cutting exercises and Crook was granted a free transfer. In June 1996, he signed for Town but his contract and player registration forms were postdated until the beginning of July. Mike Walker was re-appointed as Canaries manager on the same day that Ian was paraded as an Ipswich signing. Walker offered Crook a new contract which he duly signed. The dispute went to a tribunal and although Crook was able to play for Norwich, the club was fined for its actions.
