The following is a potted history of Town's association with the Ipswich & District League (now the Suffolk & Ipswich League), from the league's formation in 1896 through to the last time a Town side competed in the IDL way back in 1936, taken mainly from the book "Five Score: The SIL Football Book of the Century".
