Town went out of the UEFA Cup despite a great display. They battled bravely against considerable pressure, but ultimately the match was decided by three incidents. Town`s ill fortune with injuries continued. Having substituted David Johnson, who struggled on for nearly half an hour after taking a first minute knock, they were effectively reduced to ten men by Geoff Palmer`s tackle on debutant Bruce Twamley shortly before the break. Wolves might have had more goals but for a fine display by Laurie Sivell. More
